Maria's Story

After completing a B.S. at the University of Minnesota and a stint living in France, I started working as a consultant for our local utility companies, implementing an energy efficiency program for new home construction. I am passionate about environmental science, older home energy retrofits, and van life. And yet, I felt the need to explore new work.
By this time I was deep into a yoga practice and took a yoga teacher training at Yess Yoga in 2018. I learned so much and it exposed me to many holistic practices within the 8 limbs of yoga. Meanwhile, my all-female consulting team started expecting. They would come to the office with so much new information and questions after doctor/midwife appointments, not to mention what everyone was saying on the internet! I was so curious about it all! I discovered what a doula was and that people did it as a profession. Not long after I am happy to say I found a doula training and haven’t looked back. I live in South Minneapolis with my husband and dog. We have plenty of home improvement projects.
